Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Bata Labs LLC ("Bata Labs", "we", "us"), the company that operates Virlow. By creating an account or using Virlow, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Virlow is a private, end-to-end encrypted workspace for notes, files, and documents. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve or secure the service.

Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide accurate registration information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. You may enable two-factor authentication for additional protection.

Your master password

Your content

You own your content. You keep all rights to the notes, files, and documents you create in Virlow. You grant us only the limited permission necessary to store, sync, and deliver your content back to you, which for ordinary encrypted syncing means handling ciphertext. Optional publishing, hosted AI access and code execution have different privacy boundaries, described in the security model. You are responsible for the content you store and for having the right to store it.

Published notes

If you choose to publish a note, you understand that its content is stored in readable form and made accessible to anyone with the link. Publishing is a deliberate choice to make that content public. You are responsible for what you publish.

Optional AI connections and code execution

Connecting an AI assistant can give its provider access to readable content through the tools you allow it to use. Running code sends the selected code to Virlow's API and an execution service. Choose connections you trust and do not run code containing secrets.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Virlow to break the law, to infringe others' rights, to distribute malware, to attempt to breach or overload our systems, or to abuse other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that put the service or other users at risk.

Availability

We work to keep Virlow available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may perform maintenance, and features may change. We recommend keeping your own backups of important content.

Disclaimers

Virlow is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virlow and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. This includes any loss of content resulting from a forgotten master password, which cannot be recovered.

Termination

You may stop using Virlow and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if necessary to protect the service or other users.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules, and any disputes will be handled in the courts located there, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, communicated in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. Questions can be sent to team@batalabs.com.
